Cover versions

Boys was covered by many artists around the world from Finland to China, in every style (Pop, Folk, Punk...). Here's a selection of the "best" versions.

Paolo Tuci (Italy) released this (gay) version during the summer of 2013.

Shoorena Begashvili (Georgia), an actress and TV host, sang Boys on Georgian TV in July of 2013 using Sabrina's instrumental version.

Sansa (Finland) recorded a folksy version in 2011. In 2013, she posted the official video on Youtube in which Sabrina appears.
Sabrina said on her Myspace that it was her favorite cover version.

Ana Stajdohar (Serbia) recorded this unplugged version in 2012.

Paula, ex-Miss Poland recorded her version in 2012. Here is the official music video. Paula also sang in a swimming-pool...

Twiins feat. Carlprit (Slovakia), inspired by Sabrina and... Pitbul recorded this version in 2010.

Doda (Poland), a star in her country, sang several times on tour her rocky version of Boys. In 2010:

Chinese cover version in 2010!

Ex-porn actress, Aylar Lie (Norway), sang her version in 2006.

The group Rimini Project (Austria), recorded a Eurodance version in 2006(?).

Najwa Nimri (Spain), recorded a medley includding Boys (at 1:08) for the soundtrack "20 centimeters" in 2005.

The Cheeky girls (Romania/UK), released their single Boys and girls (Xmas Time Love) in 2004. The chorus is slighty different than Sabrina's version. This single peaked at #50 in the UK, #80 in Ireland and #107 in China.

LTNO (France), recorded this punk-rock version in 2004. It's one of the most interesting versions recorded by another artist.

Betty (Belgium), who became famous in her country after appearing in the first season of Big Brother, recorded her first single Something in your eye in 2001. The b-side was a Dutch version of Boys. She would later record a good cover version of Mylène Farmer's "Je t'aime mélancolie".

In 1994, Ludwig von 88 (France) released the album 17 plombs pour péter les tubes, includding this (male) punk cover version.

Aya Sugimoto (Japan) covered Boys in 1988 and topped the Japanese charts according to Wikipedia.

Boys was also covered by the female contestants in the Reality show Hotel glam (Spain, 2003), by the Belgian group Frostparade, by the most successful French Boys band 2B3 (for a TV show in the late 90s) ...

And finally, a tribute to Sabrina by the Swedish bubblegum dance group Smile.dk in 2005. The single, despite its title, is not a cover of "our" Boys.
